I need someone to watch the Meester on Tuesday and Thursday nights for the duration of my being in school. For the rest of the summer, it'd be 6-8:30ish. You will need to feed him dinner. I will pay you what I can, when I can.

He has started waxing Witness, and I'm not having it. Tuesdays and Thursdays are meeting nights for the freaks, thus my need to have him elsewhere since he goes with g'ma to these festivities.

I've heard "lemme know if you need me to watch him" a million times from a dozen people. I'm letting you know. I need a definite answer, sooner rather than later. Now would be good.

And if you find yourself falling into the "I would but. . ." category, don't respond at all. It will only piss me off more than I already am.

So the Meester was not doing well at all today. Very lethargic, very weepy, and very, very uncooperative with the whole consumption of fluids and food. I decided about dinner time to take a peek at his tongue, and it’s coated white.

Not good.

I paged his ENT, it being after hours and all. Still haven’t heard back from him. Nurse G’ma thinks its thrush, I think he’s dehydrated. Finally broke down and called the nurse line that comes with my uber expensive insurance, and she said the magic words. . .he should be seen tonight.

Long story short, one visit to the local ER and 500cc’s of saline later (can we NOT repeat the IV experience again???), my Meester is sound asleep in his bed. The verdict – “mild” dehydration. And Captain Obvious (aka the doctor) tells me my son should be taking in way more fluids.

No, ya think??? Fucking dumbass (See, Z, I do use the word on occasion.)

Right, I’m going to pass out now. Please gods let the Meester sleep VERY late tomorrow. . .today. . .whatever.

Comments disabled because I am of the cranky.

Vegas in Review

Sooooooooooo. . .Vegas. Wow. I can't find another word to describe that town. Just wow.

Now, let me say again, there were no Bearded One sightings during my excursion. Crew, yes. Family, yes. Our resident Mindfreak, no. BUT. . .

I can not tell you how totally amazing Vegas is. The energy, the air, the people, the scenery, everything just blew me away. And, much to my excitement, I was actually able to BREATHE within a couple hours of landing. Yay no pollen!!!!! In fact, no pine trees, no rolly hills. . .flat with a view for miles. And mountains. . .le sigh.

There really aren't any day-by-day specifics to report. I mean I saw the strip, visited several hotels, wandered the city in general, and ate some phenominal food. If you're a sushi fan, I HIGHLY recommend The Social House. Expensive, yes, but oh my goddess was that the best sushi I have ever put in my mouth!!! Also recommend LAX over Body English. I like the layout at LAX better, and it wasn't nearly as crowded. DJ was spinning better music, too.

Now, a few tidbits of interest. One is that whilst walking in the connector between the Luxor and the Excalibur, we wandered by one of the dancers from Thunder From Down Under. *DROOL* Oh my. . .he was a divine treat for the eyes. Blue eyes, long dark hair, tan, built. . . .yum! lolololol

The other requires a bit of background. You all know we live in the heart of race country, and that I can't stand NASCAR. I firmly subscribe to George Carlin's NASCAR theory: the only reason to watch these fools drive 500 miles in a circle is to see the 35 car pileups and NOT be in the middle of the bloody things!!!

Soooo, while I'm walking down to the M&M World on the strip (four floors of candy covered chocolate goodness. . .heaven!), I'm noticing a large assemblance of people lining the sides of Las Vegas Blvd. Having not turned the TV since I left, I had no clue what was going on, and I asked someone who was perched on the sidewalk. "Oh, we're waiting for the trucks to come in. There's a race Sunday." That's right. Hundreds of peeps, in full NASCAR regalia, are lined up to watch the semis hauling the racecars come in to town. I flew thousands of miles to get away from hillbilly hell, and what weekend did I pick? Frakkin' race weekend!!! GAH! I immeadiately called my mother and the wiz, both of whon fell out of their chairs, howling with laughter.

Note to self - check the NASCAR schedule the next time you go to Vegas.

So, there you have it. A move west has been in the works for a while, as I'm drawn to the desert, but with no definite destination. Now I have one. I have fallen so in love with Vegas, I'm planning on moving there permanently. The light of the Luxor has become my homing beacon.

I'm told the links to the pics don't work. . .I'll fix it when I get home

You may be good at home
decorating, art or anything to do with making things beautiful.

The Empress is a creator, be it creation of life, of romance, of art or business. While the Magician is the primal spark, the idea made real, and the High Priestess is the one who gives the idea a form, the Empress is the womb where it gestates and grows till it is ready to be born. This is why her symbol is Venus, goddess of beautiful things as well as love. Even so, the Empress is more Demeter, goddess of abundance, then sensual Venus. She is the giver of Earthly gifts, yet at the same time, she can, in anger withhold, as Demeter did when her daughter, Persephone, was kidnapped. In fury and grief, she kept the Earth barren till her child was returned to her.

What Tarot Card are You?
Take the Test to Find Out.

Meester went to the ENT today, because, well, he can't hear. He's got "significant" hearing loss because of the fluid in his ears. The audiologist said his eardrums are barely moving because of the fluid backed up in there, and he failed another hearing test.

So the ENT uttered those lovely words I hate to hear: "He needs tubes." Yup, here we go again.

This time, our doctor friend is offering the option of T tubes, which (in general) stay in longer. Which is a perk because it means one surgery would do for a couple years. The down side - he would have to go back in to remove them. . .and the chances of them leaving a hole in his eardrum that would need to be repaired later are greater. But it's that, or my son goes deaf.

Doc man is also recommending the removal of the massive tonsils in little man's throat. He said tonsils are not *generally* associated with ear problems, but given the shear size of these things, and the fact that his adnoids are already gone, it could be a contributory factor. That, and as the bit snores a lot, it'd be good if they came out.

There we are. I've got to figure out how much vacay I have left post-Vegas (because I am STILL going, dammit!) and when my coworker is going on his vacay to determine when this will all go down. I'll let you know.

Feh.
